    Where many startups fail, is to clearly identify to the market, prospective investors, and partners, their true archetypical role that they play in the creation of the value they hope to pass along. 💊A Painkiller is a must have product, while a 💪Vitamin is a preventative cure, which is a lot harder to sell. In addition to which, I believe, there’s one more category to add - the Ice Cream Cone.🍦The Ice Cream Cone is not technically solving a direct pain, nor is it preventing something in the future from happening, rather it is providing one of life’s memorable moments today. Think about attending a Disney theme park with your family for a fun adventure as an example, going to the movies on a Friday date night, etc. 🍿👉Your business, marketing, sales pitches, and conversations must clearly define if the solutions that you provide aim to increase someone’s pleasure or decrease their pain.     When most business owners or managers look at their customer’s journey, they start with the moment a customer enters their store, or when they buy a product outright. The journey actually starts a lot earlier than that, and also doesn’t end when you hand them a receipt, or they check out online. The customer journey has different phases that pass through various emotional, physical, and digital experiences or touch points as we call them in design thinking. Journey mapping, when done properly, helps business owners, management, and customer service employees identify problems and new opportunities within the customer experience. The reason for journey mapping, is that every customer’s journey is uniquely different. So how can a one-size-fits all experience capture the needs of all customers? It can’t, at least not initially.
